Oak Meadows is a vibrant and friendly community in Greenwood, Johnson County, Indiana, established in 1988.  This premier subdivision of 97 custom-built homes is conveniently located near major thoroughfares and the interstate system.  In addition to the amenities of Greenwood, Oak Meadows is just a 15-minute drive to Indianapolis, where residents have access to shopping, world-class dining, and entertainment options for all tastes.  It is also just a short commute south to Franklin, Columbus, or Brown County. 
   Even though situated in an urban environment, Oak Meadows is quiet and pleasant, protected from pass-through traffic by having only one entrance into each of its two sides off Averitt Road, which splits the community.  While something of an island unto itself, Oak Meadows is convenient to four-star schools, hospitals, a major retail mall, numerous other retail establishments, restaurants, libraries, parks, trails, and a close by swimming pool and waterpark.  Oak Meadows is governed by a homeowners association upholding high community standards to help maintain property values and foster community spirit.

Oak Meadows holds an annual three-day garage sale, Thursday through Saturday, typically in early June.  This community-wide event is managed by resident Stan Tucker, Board Member, who encourages everyone to participate as the more who participate, the more successful the event will be.  Stan will be advertising the community garage sale in local newspapers.  The garage sale days are a great time of camaraderie among neighbors as they interact with the larger community. The garage sale also provides enterprising youngsters a chance to hone their people skills at lemonade stands!
